Francisco Hermosillo III is a Lighting Designer, Programmer, and Photographer from Los Angeles, California. Francisco received his Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Hixson-Lied Graduate Fellow at the University of Nebraska in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, studying with Michelle Harvey. He was previously the Assistant Lighting Director and Resident Assistant Lighting Designer at Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas.
During his time at the University of Nebraska, he designed productions with the Lied Center, Nebraska Repertory Theatre, the Glen Korff School of Music, St. Louis Black Repertory Theatre, and Nebraska Wesleyan University.
He has enjoyed an active freelance career as an assistant lighting designer, programmer, and electrician from coast to coast at venues such as Alley Theatre, The Mirage Theatre (Las Vegas, NV), Barrington Stage Company (The Berkshires, MA), Indiana Repertory Theatre (Indianapolis, IN), Nebraska Repertory Theatre (Lincoln, NE) and Rubicon Theatre Company (Ventura, CA).
Throughout his time in Nebraska, Francisco was a production photographer at Nebraska Repertory Theatre, the Glen Korff School of Music for Opera and Dance productions, University of Nebraska-Lincoln: Theatrix, Doane University Theatre, Nebraska Wesleyan University Theatre, Lincoln Community Playhouse, and the Lied Center. His production photography has been seen in publications such as Los Angeles Times, LiveDesign Magazine, and the Thornton Wilder Journal.
Francisco is a graduate of California Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition (’18). He also studied Music Composition with Dr. Michael Schelle at Butler University.
